Social Networking hosts events for both PYP members as well as the community as a whole to enjoy. Events such as Black and White Night and Dueling Duos, brought an exciting aspect to the Pierre area social scene. The money we raise at our larger events allows us to host smaller member only events and allows our other committees funds to aid in community service projects like our community picnic. Other events held are the Halloween Social, St Patty’s Bowling, the PYP Relay for Life Team and singles events. We work closely with our fellow committees to raise money and participate in community activities. Social networking worked with the Community Involvement committee and the PYP board to raise money to do a Flood Relief project; which is also an ongoing project. The PYP Relay for Life Team worked hard to bring home “Best of Show” for their Tow Mader float, and “Most Team Spirit” awards!

Singles Group

The social networking group has also developed and hosts the PYP singles group! We host about an event a month, or advertise the groups involvement in PYP group events- so you never have to go alone… Friend “Pierre Young” on Facebook to learn about the events and see who’s out there.

Community Involvement

Community involvement committee participates in local events such as raising money towards the Southeast community center playground, the city wide clean up day. We also host our own events such as the Dress Shoppes for the students to donate formal ware and allow others to purchase them for a low price and the community picnic over the summer to raise money towards a pyp flood relief project. Doing good things for our neighbors!

Professional Development:

The Professional Development committee creates events for members that foster personal growth and career advancement. Events from wine tasting to professional speaking to buying a new home. Have items you’d like to learn about? Let us know!
